What Do We Believe?

· WE BELIEVE in God the Father who is the alpha and the omega (the beginning and the end) and who created all things (Genesis 1:1).

· WE BELIEVE in God the Son, Jesus Christ, who was born a virgin birth, lived a sinless life, taught, fellowshipped and prayed with people, performed miracles, changed lives, died on the cross to save us from our sins, rose from the dead, and who will return to receive His church.

· WE BELIEVE in God the Holy Spirit who convicts, instructs, guides and comforts.  When the Holy Spirit controls our lives, He produces love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance in our lives (Galatians 5:22, 23).  The Holy Ghost was sent down from heaven (I Peter 1:12).  The Holy Ghost shall teach us all things (John 14:26).  We shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon us to be witnesses (Acts 1:8).

· WE BELIEVE it is the Will of God to be filled with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues.  Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:38).  And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance (Acts 2:4).

· WE BELIEVE in the Old and New Testaments…the entire Bible being the manual for our life. His Word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path (Psalm 119:105).

· WE BELIEVE in salvation through calling upon the name of Jesus and accepting Him as your Lord and Savior…we become born into God’s family and receiver eternal life (John 3:16).  By grace you are saved through faith, it is the gift of God, not of works (Ephesians 2:8, 9).  All have sinned (Romans 3:23).  Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6).

· WE BELIEVE in the observance of the Lord’s supper known as communion.  As they were eating, Jesus took the bread, blessed it, broke it, gave it to the disciples, and said, take, eat, this is my body.  He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, drink all of it for this is my blood which is shed for the remission of sins (Matthew 26:26-28).

· WE BELIEVE in discipleship.  It is His commandment to love one another.  By this shall all men know that you are His disciples, if you love one another, if you keep on showing love among yourselves (John 13:34, 35).  If you abide in His Word, hold fast to His teachings, and live in accordance with them, you are truly His disciples (John 8:31).  Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature (Matthew 16:15)

· WE BELIEVE in water baptism by immersion.  Go and teach the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost (Matthew 28:19).

· WE BELIEVE in laying hands on the sick or anointing heads with oil so they shall be healed.  Lay hands on the sick and they shall recover (Mark 16:18).  Is any sick among you?  Let him call on the elders of the church, let them pray for him, anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith shall save the sick (James 5:14, 15).

· WE BELIEVE in the five-fold ministry gifts.  He gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, some to be pastors and some to be teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of service so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ (Ephesians 4:11-13).

· WE BELIEVE that God’s family should meet together regularly for prayer, worship, teaching, fellowship and mutual encouragement.  For where two or three come together in His name, He is there with them (Matthew 18:20).  Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2).  Every believer is to grow up in the Lord through studying of the Word, praying and renewing the mind…be transformed by the renewing of your mind (Romans 12:2).

· WE BELIEVE that if we lack wisdom, we can ask of God and it will be given to us (James 1:5).  Ask – it shall be given; seek – you shall find; knock – it shall be opened (Matthew 7:7).  He is able to do exceedingly abundantly beyond all that we can ask or think (Ephesians 3:20)

· WE BELIEVE that you can put your full trust in God.  For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).

· WE BELIEVE in the Ten Commandments.  The person who has His commands and keeps them is the one who really loves Him, and whoever really loves Him will be loved by the Father.  He too will love him and will show Himself to him – He will let Himself be clearly seen by him and make Himself real to him (John 14:21).

· WE BELIEVE that satan is our adversary.  The thief (satan) comes to steal, kill and destroy, but Jesus came so that we can have life and life more abundantly (John 10:10).  Jesus said satan had no truth in him and he called him the father of all lies (John 8:44).
